One-Light Studio Portrait Photography.
Saturday, September
9AM to 4PM
Aerospace Technology Campus
This workshop breaks down the complex world of off-camera lighting into the essential elements we can understand and employ in practical, day-to-day shooting.
Combining lecture, demonstrations, and hands-on shooting time, We will walk you through all the technical aspects of using flashes and strobes in manual mode. You will gain the knowledge of what off camera lighting can do for you as well as the limitations you will run into when using lights. We will explain and demonstrate a number of modifiers and how to effectively use each one.
Allow the intimidation of flash photography to melt away. You will walk away from this workshop with the confidence and knowledge necessary to take control of your shoots.
Learning Objectives:
This workshop is broken up into two sections. The first section covers the theory of Studio Photography and is followed by a practical session in a studio setup. All participants will have the opportunity to work one on one with our fashion model Yana Anne and build their portfolio and conclude with a feedback session.
Bring a camera with a 24-70mm equivalent lens or in that range of focal lengths. If you have something like a 24mm, 35mm, and a 50mm or 85mm range of lenses you’ll be just fine. You won’t need anything super wide nor longer than maybe 100mm. Bring extra batteries and memory cards. We will have all the lighting equipment on hand for you to use.
Please note, that this workshop doesn’t include the retouching part – you don’t need to bring your laptop.
